Geneva Rock Products, Inc. seeks an Engineering Manager in Salt Lake City and Orem, Utah.  Duties: Work closely with Project Manager(s), Project Engineer(s), and other senior positions and Field Engineer(s) to plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee the construction of simple to complex heavy/highway, municipal, and private projects.  (1) Actively manage labor and equipment resources on the job site. Utilize field data and production history to help determine viability of various resources, most notably, equipment and labor.  Look for innovation (30%); (2) after verifying the work of Field Engineer, estimate and prepare bid proposals and apply experience to refine work estimates and prepare proposals to clients (25%); (3) train, direct, and supervise Field Engineer(s) (10%); (4) analyze project production data gathered by the Field Engineer and prepare financial reports for supervisors.  Make recommendations for adjustments to approach or resource utilization (10%); (5) meet with owners and designers to troubleshoot issues and work out problems. Escalation ladder will put the Project Engineer in place to resolve matters not resolved by Field Engineer (10%); (6) ensure EPA Environmental Compliance. This includes management of storm water pollution prevention plan and assuring weekly inspections are performed and logged (5%); (7) prepare SWPPP and file NOI and NOT for Area Projects Supervise/monitor inspections by subcontractors or Field Engineers. Provide training as necessary (5%); and (8) perform such other duties and responsibilities as assigned (5%).  Approximately 20% of the time will be traveling between office and project sites [within Utah] using a company-provided vehicle.  Requirements: (1) Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; (2) 48 months of experience working in the heavy construction industry, or a related job; (3) demonstrable working knowledge and understanding of: (a) FHWA-MUTCD; (b) UDOT Traffic Control standards and specifications; (c) HCSS HeavyJob; (d) HCSS HeavyBid; (e) Viewpoint; (f) EPA's construction environmental regulations; (g) APWA standards and specifications; and (h) OSHA 40; (4) demonstrable ability to design plans using: (a) AutoCad Civil 3D; and (b) Bentley Microstation; (5) be, or currently possess the credentials to become within 90 days of the date of hire: (a) an Erosion Control Supervisor (ECS); and (b) a Registered Storm Water Inspector (RSI); and (6) must have passed the NCEES EIT Exam.  Send resumes to: Geneva Rock Products, Inc., Attn: Bryan Flake, 1565 West 400 North, Orem, UT 84057, or via email to bflake@wwclyde.net.
